New AC3 Liberation Footage and Info

Playstation Blog posted recently an interview they did with Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberations story writer Richard Farrese.  With it, we got some juicy intel on how this amazing Vita game will play when it’s released October 30th.  There has also been a released footage (no audio) of mission playthroughs by IGN.

Playstation Blog has pointed out the following information:

• You no longer ‘claw’ the shoulder buttons in battle, the controls are simplified.
• Press Square for melee attacks, hold and release Triangle to aim and fire ranged weapons, Circle counters, X is used for block-breakers and other moves.
• Tapping screen brings up a sort of weapon wheel that half circles each screen for easy reach.
• Besides the weapon wheel, most all touch features seem optional.
• Aveline has access to many new weapons including the whip.
• Aveline can utilize 3 personas to execute different missions.
• Assassin Persona dresses in her standard assassin attire and weapons for standard AC stealth and flashy kills.
• Lady Persona has Aveline dressed in a fancy dress where she uses charm, bribery, and hidden dagger to complete a mission, however she’s unable to run or combat easily.
• Servant Persona has Aveline dressed and acting as a servant to infiltrate pretty much anywhere and still able to flee via rooftop.  Although she’s without defenses and can die in a couple of blows.
• Liberation will be during the same time frame as AC3 and will have Aveline encounter AC3’s protagonist Connor.
• Aveline will not be controlled by Desmond but rather be part of a Templar controlled Abstergo project.
